INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

If you are an international student you should begin the application process as early as a year before the start of the term in which you wish to enroll. You must submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), if you have not studied at an institution where the language of instruction is English. The minimum TOEFL score for admission to graduate study at UC Davis is 550 with a score of 600 on the English section.

Funding for international students is limited. The University of California does not grant fellowships or tuition fellowships to students from foreign countries during their first year of study. You may apply, however, for research assistantships and teaching assistantships. Information on sources of foreign student support can be obtained from the Committee on Study and Training in the United States associated with the American embassy or legation in your country.
